Meeting and study rooms are available for reservations on a first-come, first-served basis.
Borrowing of Library Materials
Check out printed books from the library, onsite or online, following the Circulation policy. Books may be picked up personally, through a representative, or through a courier service at the designated pick-up location.
Books may be returned on site, in the General Circulation Section, or at the designated book drop stations through a courier..
Current Awareness
Informs the users of the library’s new acquisitions and promotes its collections through the website and social media pages.
Document Delivery
Get full-text e-journal articles and book chapters from alternative sources on top of the library’s subscribed databases.
Scanning various pages from the library’s printed collection, taking strict consideration of the copyright law, is also under this service.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
The library facilitates book borrowing from partner institutions on behalf of the library user if not available in the library.

Library User Education
The library conducts online and in-person orientation, e-resources tutorials, and specialized instruction to teach library research skills and promote information literacy.
Microfilm Reader and Printer
The Library has microfilm readers and a microfilm reader printer available for use in the Serials section (6/F). The use of the reader is free of charge. However, the microfilm printing fee is Php 5.00/page. Library patrons may view the local newspapers (1990-present) and the Philippine map on microfilms.
Referral
Interested library users are referred to other libraries to access their resources.
Remote Access to e-Resources
Access the library’s e-resources remotely 24/7 using your active library account.
Reprographic Services
Reproduction of library materials is through photocopying, scanning, or printing.
Returning of Library Materials
Return books at the designated book drop stations. Books may be returned personally or through a courier service.
Suggest a Purchase
Library users are welcome to make recommendations for the purchase of library materials.
Turnitin
Academic staff and graduate students may visit the library to run their research papers to check for originality through this software.
Visiting Researchers
Access to library resources and use of facilities are available to alumni, visiting researchers, and professionals.

Conference Hall
Conference Hall is intended for activities such as library orientations, seminars, and other related activities for a fee. It can accommodate up to 104 people.

Conference Hall Guidelines
1. Purpose
The Conference Hall, located on the ground floor with a 104-seating capacity, is intended for activities such as library orientations, seminars, and other classroom-related activities for a fee. Preference will be given to library activities. It is generally not considered a regular meeting room. The users are responsible for leaving the hall clean and orderly. UST-affiliated offices, departments, and organizations who wish to use this area shall be financially amenable to any damage or loss in the Conference Hall.
2. Guest Conduct
Guests agree to conduct the event in an orderly manner in full compliance with the applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines of the Miguel de Benavides Library. The organizer is responsible for the conduct of all the attendees in the event.
3. Facility Hours
The Conference Hall is available Mondays to Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm. Event hour starts with the first person’s arrival and extends to the last person’s departure. Ingress can begin two hours before the event.
4. Reservation
Reservation should be made at least 2 weeks before the event. Coordinate schedule with the library staff at the General Reference and Information Section. Student Organization events must be approved by the Office for Student Affairs before submitting a request letter to the Chief Librarian of the Miguel de Benavides Library. Request for the use of the conference hall should be addressed to:

5. Audio-Visual Equipment available:
• Built-in LCD projector and screen
• Laptop, Laser pointer
• Built-in sound system
• Microphones
• Podium with built-in gooseneck microphone
*Additional equipment brought inside the venue will be charged per hour.
6. Use
• Food and drinks are not allowed in the Conference Hall.
• The General Reference and Information Section shall issue a billing statement to the organizer to settle the payment at the General Circulation Section a week before the event.
• The organizer shall present the Official Receipt to the General Reference and Information section for clearance.
• Banners, posters, flyers, and signages are subject to approval by the Office of the Secretary-General before posting.
Consultation Rooms
Located in the Science and Technology Section (2/F), academic staff may conduct consultation with students upon reservation. Three consultation rooms in the Senior High School Library are provided exclusively to the Senior High School community.
Discussion and Collaborative Rooms
Discussion and Collaborative rooms are available for currently enrolled students. Reservation requests for these rooms should be made at the sections and branch libraries offering the facilities.
Four discussion rooms are available in the G/F, General Reference and Information Section. The Science and Technology Section (2/F) provides a discussion room. The Education High School Library’s two discussion rooms are exclusive to the Education High School community. The Senior High School Library has five discussion rooms exlucsively for Senior High School students. Also, the Health Sciences Library offers five collaborative rooms for the College of Nursing, College of Rehabilitation Sciences, and the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery students.
Academic staff and students who want to use the Discussion/ Collaborative/ Consultation Rooms are subject to the following regulations:
• Use of the rooms is free for library users (currently enrolled college and postgraduate students, academic and support staff).
• The rooms must not be used for activities likely to disturb regular library operations. The Library expects the users to be considerate of others and reserves the right to stop disruptive sessions. Making excessive noise, talking loudly, and using any audio equipment in a way that may disturb others, are strictly prohibited.
• To maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the rooms, performance practice and any forms of artwork such as drawing, painting, props-making, and other related activities are not allowed.
• Food and drinks are strictly prohibited.
*Failure to comply with the abovementioned regulations may mean cancellation of your rights to use the Area.
Exhibit Area
A portion of the ground floor of the Central Library is reserved for exhibition and display purposes. Other colleges and departments may also use this facility upon request. Library exhibits are announced on the library website, the library organization site, and the library's social media pages.

Faculty Area
An exclusive area for academic staff is available in the Science and Technology Section (2/F). The use of this facility is on a first-come, first-served basis. Lockers for textbook, thesis, and dissertation writers are available upon request.
• Valuables and other personal belongings should not be left unattended.
• Eating is prohibited.
• Cleanliness and orderliness should be properly observed.
• Entertaining visitors and consultations are not allowed in the Faculty Area.
Internet Station
Internet stations are available on the ground floor and second floor of the Central Library to maintain its role as a public provider of information. Aside from computer terminals available in the different sections and branch libraries, these stations can be used free of charge.
Multimedia Room
The Multimedia Room is part of the Science and Technology section on the second floor of the Central Library. It houses CDs, VCDs, DVDs, cassette tapes, and videotapes used for teaching, self-learning, or entertainment. The room is designated primarily for students to view audio-visual materials supporting their academic work. It has an overhead projector, computer terminals, a TV, VHS, CD/VCD/DVD players, and headphones. It also provides an area for group viewing of up to fifteen (15) students per session. This area is limited to two hours per use.
The Multimedia Room can accommodate twenty (20) people. All members of the Thomasian community are entitled to the use of the room subject to its rules and regulations. All procedures are aimed at effective and efficient service.
The Reader's Cafe-UST Library
The cafe is located on the ground floor, the rear part of the Central Library building. It offers affordable, high-quality products in a friendly and clean environment.
The establishment serves as a laboratory for Hotel and Restaurant Management senior students operated and managed by the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
