The UST Heritage Library, inaugurated on January 28, 2006, was supported by a grant from the family of the late Ambassador Ramon V. del Rosario, Sr. It was named in honor of their grandfather, Antonio Vivencio del Rosario, a distinguished Thomasian and former Secretary General of UST from 1854 to 1866.
Through the UST Heritage Library, the Miguel de Benavides Library engaged in a project called Lumina Pandit II (Spreading the Light), a sustainable collaboration between the University of Santo Tomas and the UnionBank of the Philippines aimed to preserve, digitize, publish catalogs, and promote the rich cultural heritage of UST and the nation.
At present, the UST Heritage Library plays a vital role in nation-building and enhancing the well-being of Filipinos by being a beacon for researchers and scholars, a repository of knowledge, and a steward of historical materials for the present and future generations.
