Map Area (Ground floor, General Reference and Information Section)

Geographical sources are available in this section. At present, it has 2,062 map collections. Some of these date back to the 19th century.

Guidelines on the Use of Maps at the General Reference Section

  1. A patron must present and deposit his/her validated UST ID at the porter upon entering the Reference Section.


  2. Students are allowed to photocopy the maps. Photocopying should be done at the Heritage Library (5th floor) from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 nn; 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.


  3. Fill out the photocopying form and have it signed by the library staff at the General Reference & Information Section.


  4. Maps with duplicate copy are allowed to be taken out, but for classroom only. They should present a letter duly signed by either the professor or adviser. The letter must be presented to the Chief Librarian for approval. Maps can be taken out one (1) hour before the scheduled class and must be returned immediately after use. Failure to comply will be subject to disciplinary action.


  5. A faculty member makes the reservation of maps for classroom use. He /She may send a representative to borrow the material for him / her with an authorization letter together with his / her faculty ID. Maps to be borrowed may be claimed at the Circulation counter. It should be returned immediately to the Library after use.
